Hamilton Heights’ Saturday, April 11 softball game was no different for the Huskies’ team.
For the second game in a row, Heights shut out its opponent. This time it was on the road in Bunker Hill, taking down the Maconaquah Braves, 19-0 in five innings.
Once again, one big inning fueled the Huskies. Heights touched home 13 times in the second to really jump out in front and make a statement.
Kamryn Rhoton hit the first Husky homer in the second to go up 7-0. Two singles and a pair of doubles, along with a few walks helped get the baker’s dozen on the board.
Three more runs scored when Ellie Engle drilled a home run to left, scoring Hannah Dent and Lily Cash for a 16-0 lead.
McKenzie Jackson hit a long ball in the fourth that made it 17-0.
Jayda Morris doubled in Heather Crays and Audrey Cain to account for the final score.
The Huskies have outscored their first four opponents 55-5.
Hamilton Heights (4-0, 0-0) dives into Hoosier Conference action at home against Western (2-2, 2-0) tonight at 6 p.m.
