Donna Belle Spencer

Donna Belle Spencer, born on November 27, 1928, in Akron, Ind., passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026. She was a beacon of love and compassion in her family and community. Her charismatic personality and thoughtful heart touched everyone who had the privilege to meet her. She devoted her life to her family as a loving homemaker, always ensuring her home was a welcoming place filled with warmth and love.

Donna was a proud resident of Cicero. She was a loving wife to her late husband, John Spencer, whom she married on February 26, 1966. Donna enjoyed attending Omega Christian Church with her church family whom she loved, playing (and winning) Bingo, and competitive games of Farkle with her friends from Tipton. She was an ardent fan of Izakaya and jumped at every chance to each there. Donna loved basking in the sun, visiting the beach, and maintaining her beautiful flowers. Her collection of angels, coffee cups, magnets, and knick-knacks brought her joy, each item holding fond memories and stories.

Donna is survived by her loving children Kevin Spencer, Kim (Russ) Spencer-Milkey, Janet (Greg) Murray, Paul (Leslie) Spencer, Brian (Carol) Spencer, and Brenda (Kurt) King. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law Karen Umberger, Nancy (Robb) Webb, and Kathy Spencer as well as her sister, Janice (Harold) Shewman. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt. She cherished every moment spent with her family.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband John Spencer; parents, Orville and Doris Ellis; children, Larry Umberger, Twila Smith, Mark Spencer, and Jeff Spencer; and her sister, Marcile Becker.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Cicero Christian Church, 1715 Stringtown Pike, Cicero. A funeral service in memory of Donna will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026, at the same location with Pastor Neal Brown of Omega Christian Church officiating. All services are under the direction of Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home in Cicero.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home to go towards funeral expenses.
