Joy Ann Mills

April 2, 1942 – August 18, 2026

Joy Ann Mills, 84, Noblesville, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. She was born on April 2, 1942, to Everett and Ruby (Lundy) Ely in Pennington Gap, Va.

Joy retired from Best Lock Corp. She and her husband spent their time at their farm in Pennington Gap where they raised cattle, made hay, and enjoyed the company of numerous friends. Joy was a member of the former Beech Grove Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her loving husband, James H. Mills; daughters, Lisa Phifer, Kathy Young, and Suzanne Mills; daughter-in-law, Robin Mills; sons, Timothy Young, and Mark (Jane) Mills; brother, Larry (Vickie) Ely; sisters, Mary (Bruce) Brooks, and Brenda (Bill) Iles; grandchildren, Evan Myers, Ashley Myers, Clayton Young, Kennedy Young, Jason (Katie) Mills, Molly (Ross) Hammonds, Jared (Caroline) Mills, Shelby (Daniel) Clayton, LJ (Ashley) Young, and Daniel (Bailey) Young; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way next month; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her son, James Mills; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Louise Young; sisters, Marjorie Ruth McElroy and Linda Kay Parker; and her brothers, EJ Ely, Harold Ely, Wayne Ely, and Kenneth Ely.

The family would like to thank Anchor of Hope Hospice for their loving care of Joy.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, with services at noon, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Pastor Hack McPhee will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
