Wednesday morning crash sends six to hospital

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team is investigating a two-car collision that sent six people to local hospitals.

Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of State Road 38 and Boden Road around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. Callers reported a serious crash with the possible need for occupant extraction and multiple patients.

Deputies investigating the crash reported a 2004 blue Toyota Corolla driven by Juan Curry Arce of Indianapolis was northbound on Boden Road approaching SR 38. According to the crash report, the Corolla stopped at the intersection with SR 38 and then proceeded in front of a 2006 white Chevrolet crew cab truck, driven by Gerardo Corona Chavez of Anderson traveling eastbound.

Arce was transported by air ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street with multiple injuries and a front seat passenger was taken to the same hospital by ground ambulance for treatment of cuts and bleeding. Four passengers in the truck were taken to Riverview Health in Noblesville for treatment of pain of various body parts. The crash report indicates most, if not all, of those involved in the crash were wearing safety belts.
