The Picklr Keystone Crossing has announced it will play host to the first pickleball training clinic for Special Olympics Indiana from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16.
In all, 36 athletes from 12 counties and 27 coaches from 14 counties will attend the clinic to learn the sport in preparation for Special Olympics Indiana’s first season of pickleball competition in 2026.
During the clinic, athletes and players will participate in basic skills training to learn pickleball fundamentals and how to properly play the game. Coaches will complete sport-specific training that focuses on becoming familiar with pickleball skills, the rules of the game, Special Olympics modifications, and how to do assessments.
“We’re thrilled to host this initial training clinic for Special Olympics Indiana,” Becca Hsu, Club Coordinator at The Picklr Keystone Crossing, said. “Pickleball is a very strong community-building sport, and we feel it will be a great addition as one of Special Olympics’ competitive sports offerings next year.”
The Picklr Keystone Crossing is located at 3810 E. 82nd St., Indianapolis. Pickleball enthusiasts can look forward to additional clubs coming to Indiana in 2026.
