Experience solar eclipse at Conner Prairie family-friendly educational activities

There is still time to get tickets for Conner Prairie’s Total Solar Eclipse 2024 Festival.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 8, families can take part in the fun activities at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Tickets are $40 for members and $55 for nonmembers. Click here for tickets.

Hosted by Rick Crosslin, district scientist-in-residence at MSD Wayne Township, Conner Prairie guests will be guided through the science behind the eclipse.

Learn about what life was like living and working in space from Hoosier astronaut Mark Brown. Brown spent time as an Air Force fighter pilot, engineer, NASA astronaut, NASA manager, and corporate manager. After more than 20 years in the Air Force, he flew in two space shuttle missions in 1984 and 1989. He also served on the Challenger Accident Investigation team and was the senior astronaut on the International Space Station program until he retired in 1993.

See a special “camera obscura” built on site at Conner Prairie that families can walk into to view the eclipse.

There will be special hands-on activities for kids will focus on the science of shadow and light. There will also be live music, dance performances, food, drinks, and so much more. Old favorites like Prairietown will also be open during the festival.

All ticketholders age 2 and older will receive a pair of complimentary eclipse glasses.
