The Veterans & Athletes United (VAU) Fallen Heroes Memorial Dog Tag Flag will return to Cyntheanne Christian Church on Sunday, June 14, providing the community with an opportunity to honor America’s fallen heroes while supporting disabled veterans and their families.

The memorial will be on display from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cyntheanne Christian Church, 13151 Cyntheanne Road, Fishers. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend throughout the day.

Constructed from thousands of engraved dog tags representing service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Global War on Terror, the traveling memorial serves as a moving tribute to the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Displayed on Flag Day, the memorial offers a powerful reminder of the freedoms Americans enjoy because of their sacrifice.

Beginning at noon, the event will feature speakers and live entertainment. Lunch will be available, and visitors can browse a variety of crafts, baked goods, and other items for sale. The event will also include family-friendly activities, giving children an opportunity to participate in the day’s festivities while learning about the importance of honoring our nation’s heroes.

One hundred percent of all proceeds collected during the event will benefit VAU programs that assist disabled veterans.

Community members who would like to share a patriotic song, speak, perform, or participate in the program are encouraged to get involved. Anyone interested in participating or seeking additional information may contact Jo Neff at (317) 850-1477.

From my heart, each time this memorial comes to our community I am reminded that behind every dog tag is a life, a family, and a sacrifice that should never be forgotten,” Neff said. “It is both a privilege and honor to help bring this event to our church and community so we may pause together, give thanks, and remember those who gave so much for our freedom.”

Organizers invite veterans, active-duty military personnel, families, friends, and community members of all ages to attend this special day of remembrance, gratitude, and support for those who have served our nation.
