On the opening day of the 2022 camping season at White River Campground, staff led by Campground Supervisor Steven Haas joined with Hamilton County Council President and Parks Liaison Steve Schwartz, Hamilton County Parks leadership and parks board members to welcome the season’s first arrivals to the popular campground.
The 25-acre campground is located along the scenic White River and offers guests the ability to experience the great outdoors by camping in everything from a pup tent to a luxury RV. The grounds feature a camp store, rec center, playground, laundry facility, paved drives, a canoe launch and a host of other convenience and recreational amenities.
Campers also have direct pedestrian access to Strawtown Koteewi Park, the county’s largest park, by crossing the majestic pedestrian-only Patterson Historic Bridges that span the White River. Once across, visitors have a range of “adventures in nature” awaiting them – whether in the award-winning Taylor Center of Natural History, on the surface of the new Koteewi Lake or in the park’s exciting Adventure Area.
Throughout the entire camping season, which runs through October, family-friendly activities are regularly staged for the enjoyment of campers and their guests.
“The campgrounds have undergone a number of improvements and updates and my outstanding camp staff and hosts are excited about serving a record number of campers in 2022,” Haas said.
