The Altrusa Club of Hamilton County has had a busy spring. Our members finished their scheduled readings to the students of Head Start, and, in honor of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, celebrated the Week of the Young Child by providing an ice cream party for those students.

In April, Altrusa International celebrated 109 years of community service. For our club meeting that month, Charity Balow gave a presentation about the realities of human trafficking. She participates with services helping survivors thrive. From a list she provided, our members donated items needed to help local victims.

Throughout the year, we partner with the Indianapolis Altrusa Club on one of our projects: to fulfill a need for sustainable menstrual hygiene kits. The completed kits are distributed through a program known as Days for Girls International.

Altrusa International of Hamilton County continues to welcome new members dedicated to local service projects, with a primary focus on literacy and leadership. If you are interested in supporting our projects, or joining our club, contact sharon@justnoteworthyevents.com.
