Alaina Shonkwiler files for Indiana House District 29 race

Noblesville Republican Alaina Shonkwiler has declared her candidacy for Indiana State Representative in House District 29, an area that encompasses Noblesville within Hamilton County.

The announcement follows the decision of current State Rep. Chuck Goodrich to vacate the position, opening the door for Shonkwiler to bring her dedication and experience to the Statehouse.

A lifelong resident of Noblesville, Shonkwiler expressed her commitment to the community, stating, “I have spent my life in Noblesville, and this community is where Jason and I chose to raise our family.”

As she files for candidacy, Shonkwiler emphasizes her deep roots in the district and her passion for preserving and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

Drawing on her extensive background, Shonkwiler brings a wealth of experience to the race. Currently serving as a Manager in Government Advisory with Katz, Sapper & Miller, she leverages years of expertise in local government and economic development to contribute to the thriving communities she represents. A graduate of Noblesville High School, Shonkwiler has a proven track record, having previously held roles with the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce, City of Noblesville, and Noblesville Schools.

In her statement, Shonkwiler outlined her key priorities for the campaign, focusing on issues that resonate with the constituents of House District 29.

“As I seek your vote to be our next State Representative, I will be the passionate conservative fighter we need,” Shonkwiler said. Her agenda includes a commitment to keeping communities safe, advocating for transparency and parental involvement in education, protecting conservative freedoms, and ensuring economic opportunities that continue to make the region a desirable destination for families and businesses alike.

Married to Jason Shonkwiler, a Noblesville Police Department Sergeant and current School Resource Officer at Noblesville High School, Alaina and her family are deeply embedded in the local community. The couple has two children, Hannah and Kyle, and together, they are dedicated to contributing to the growth and prosperity of Noblesville.
