Last Friday, June 5, the Westfield Rotary Club showed up at the first Cool Creek Concert of the season, firing up the grill and serving brats, hot dogs, chips, and drinks to more than 2,000 attendees enjoying a perfect Indiana evening.

But this year, we added something new to the mix.

We launched a 50/50 raffle to support one of our favorite community organizations. One lucky ticket-holder walked away with half the proceeds. The other half was donated to Robbie’s Hope at Westfield High School.

Robbie’s Hope is a student-led club doing quietly courageous work. In an era when suicide ranks among the leading causes of death for teenagers, these young people are stepping up, raising awareness, dismantling stigma, and teaching their peers how to recognize the warning signs of someone who’s struggling and how to start a conversation that could save a life.

The club grew out of The Robbie’s Hope Foundation, which was born from grief and transformed into purpose. When 15-year-old Robbie Eckert died in Colorado, his parents turned their loss into a mission to reach suffering teenagers before it’s too late. That mission found its way to Westfield High School, and this community is better for it.

We still have four more concerts in the Cool Creek series this summer, and with each one, we’ll be holding another 50/50 raffle to support a different community organization. Four concerts. Four causes. One community pulling together.

If you see us at the booth, come say hello, grab a brat, and buy a raffle ticket. Every ticket is a small act with a big ripple.

Service Above Self and Creating an Impact. That’s what Westfield is about.

See you at the next concert.
