Dr. Charles “Tom” Thomas Clark

February 25, 1947 – July 24, 2026

Dr. Charles “Tom” Thomas Clark, 79, Athens, Ohio, formerly of Noblesville, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Amy; his brother, Tim (Joanie) Clark; his sister, Tammy (David) Baitz; his children, Casey, Kelsey, Kinsey, Grace, Agatha, Audrey, Cora, Seth, and Zachary; and many beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Eleanor Clark; his sons, Kyle and Cody Clark; his childhood best friend, Jimmy Grant; and his dear friend, Mike Lawhon, both of whom were killed while serving in the Vietnam War in 1969.

A 1965 graduate of Noblesville High School, Tom excelled in track and cross country, setting numerous school records. His passion for medicine began while working as an orderly at Riverview Hospital during high school. He earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana State University before receiving his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Clark began his pediatric career in Arlington, Texas, before relocating to Athens, Ohio, where he joined the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. There, he established a pediatric practice while educating future physicians. His love for pediatrics and unwavering commitment to children defined his distinguished career. He served for many years as Chief of Pediatrics and held leadership roles within the Department of Specialty Medicine. Through his compassionate care and dedication to teaching, he touched countless young lives and helped shape generations of physicians. After 29 years of devoted service to Ohio University, he retired in 2013, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence, compassion, and service.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. He treasured his family and valued his friendships.

In accordance with his wishes, Dr. Clark was cremated, and no formal services will be held at this time.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cared for Tom during his final days. They also invite family, friends, colleagues, former patients, and students to honor his memory by sharing their favorite stories, cherished memories, or moments of laughter. Tom’s life was filled with love, compassion, and humor, and nothing would have meant more to him than knowing those memories continue to bring smiles to others.
