At approximately 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, Noblesville police officers responded to the 13600 block of 156th Street in reference to a report of a crash involving one vehicle. Officers arrived on the scene a short time later and began to investigate.
Preliminary reports from witnesses and evidence at the scene indicate that a 2020 Toyota Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound in the 13600 block of 156th Street just before the crash occurred. Witnesses stated that the vehicle lost control and veered off the road, colliding with a utility pole. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as Shehzil Aamir, 17, Noblesville. Amir was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The Noblesville Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit was summoned to the scene to investigate the crash and to collect evidence at the scene.
