The Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) has been notified that it will receive a $27,500 grant from the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation for operational costs for the symphony’s 2026-2027 50th Anniversary Season.
These funds will help the symphony better fulfill its mission to provide family-friendly concerts and engage with youth through education and community initiatives to ignite an interest in orchestral music that lasts a lifetime. This grant will bolster CSO’s ability to provide modern symphonic experiences that entertain and improve cultural experiences for the Carmel community and surrounding area.
“We are very excited to receive this funding as we head into our 50th Anniversary season,” said Nancy Sutton, Chair of the CSO Board of Directors. “As with most non-profit arts organizations, ticket sales only cover about a fourth of what we need to present our concerts. Grants such as this help us fill those funding gaps and encourage others to invest in the CSO as well.”
The Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation was incorporated in 1990. Its mission is to support charitable organizations that promote or preserve the Arts and Humanities with priority given to those located in central Indiana. The Foundation also looks to those organizations that were supported by Mr. Clowes during his life or are similar to those supported by Mr. Clowes.
