The Art of Cheryl Anne Lorance will be on display beginning Friday, April 3 at Robert Goodman Jewelers, 106 N. Main St., Zionsville.
The showing opens with a public reception at the Zionsville shop from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 3. Light refreshments will be served and the artist will be on site to discuss her limited-edition etchings, watercolors, and ink drawings.
Lorance is a sculptor, illustrator, and educator. She moved to Santa Fe, N.M., after obtaining her Master’s Degree in Sculpture in 1996 from Ball State University. While in Santa Fe she continued her work in bronze and established a career as a goldsmith. She began working in stone and returned to Indiana in 2012. Since her return to the Hoosier State, she has completed several stone public artworks including 10 hand-carved benches for the newly opened Riley Arts Trail in Greenfield.
A special guest exhibitor at the showing will be Abby Filter, a long-time friend of Lorance who studied art with her at Ball State. Filter embraces drawing as a stress-reducing, meditative process, using watercolor, markers, and colored pencil on paper to create portraits, small drawings, and handmade cards.
The showing will be at Robert Goodman Jewelers through May 31.
