Tre on Main set to unveil distinct cuisine & atmosphere in Carmel

Grand opening set for April as part of the restaurant’s culinary vision expansion

Tre, a vibrant new Italian eatery, will soon hold the grand opening of its location in Carmel, slated for late April 2024, situated at 10 E. Main St. This opening is the third restaurant derived from owner Chris Evans, the founder of the multi-site Sangiovese Ristorante.

Tre is the final restaurant from Evans and will be the largest at 4,800 square-feet, seating 120 guests inside, 50 outdoor seats, as well as a private dining room and a full bar. The menu will be unique from Sangiovese’s but still feature classic Italian dishes.

“We’re excited to bring an electric atmosphere to the heart of Carmel,” Evans said. “We want people to come for a two-hour vacation. From the diverse menu and extensive Italian wine selection to the exquisite art and engaging music, we really want people to walk away refreshed from a night out and in love with life all over again.”

The Carmel location marks Evans’ last development in Indiana, serving as a passion project and showcasing his passion for art, atmosphere, and culinary excellence. Tre will operate under the management of wine enthusiast and Puglia native Francesco Settanni, with culinary development and oversight from former Carmichael Head Chef Zach Tursi. A custom art series called “La Vita” from renowned artist Jason Myers will be featured throughout the restaurant, adding to the vibrant ambiance.

“A restaurant is a place where people go to celebrate the good times and to find a little comfort in the difficult ones,” Settanni said. “That’s the reason I love hospitality and why I’m excited to open Tre. Let us take care of you!”

Sangiovese has been a staple of Indianapolis’ fine dining scene since 1994, starting with its first location at the River’s Edge shopping center. In 2015, the restaurant relocated a few blocks west to the Ironworks building at Keystone. The second location opened at the Yard District in Fishers in January 2020. Named after the Italian word for “three,” Tre signifies the third establishment under the Sangiovese Enterprises umbrella.

Tre on Main will continue the tradition of offering a distinct dining experience paired with elevated dishes and a vast Italian wine selection.

Starting in late April, Tre on Main will welcome guests seven days a week, from 4 to 10 p.m., inviting patrons to indulge in the flavors of Italy within the heart of Carmel. Tre plans to hire 35 new team members. Anyone interested in applying can click here or email Francesco Settanni at fsettanni@sangioveseristorante.com.
