Ivy Tech receives $200K grant from Community Leadership Innovation Fund

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Leadership Innovation Fund, a fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), and the Hamilton County Community Foundation (HCCF), an affiliate of CICF, have awarded the Ivy Tech Foundation with a $200,000 grant to support vulnerable populations in Hamilton County by expanding workforce development opportunities.

The grant will support immediate workforce needs due to COVID-19, including short-term certificate training programs to upskill or reskill workers in high-wage, high-demand fields. Additionally, this grant will incorporate Ivy Tech’s Career Coaching and Employer Connections (CCECC) model to enhance employer engagement and career coaching for students.

“We are excited about this great opportunity at Ivy Tech Hamilton County, especially as we are stepping into a new chapter,” said Dr. Stacy Atkinson, chancellor of Ivy Tech Hamilton County. “This grant will enhance partnerships in the community, creating a more seamless pathway to postsecondary education, as well as support recruitment efforts.”

This grant opportunity is possible through support from the Community Leadership Innovation Fund, a CICF fund comprising five philanthropic leaders (Lori Efroymson-Aguilera, Marianne Glick, Myrta Pulliam, Cindy Simon Skjodt and Charlie Sutphin). Additionally, it is also possible with support from three foundations (CICF, the Indianapolis Foundation, and Hamilton County Community Foundation), represented by each boards’ leadership.
