Heights student tests positive for coronavirus

Hamilton Heights School Corporation has announced that a high school student has tested positive for COVID-19.

A letter issued to parents of students in the district said, “We are sending this notification as a precautionary measure and in accordance with our Re-Entry Plan. All students and one HHHS teacher that have been in close contact with this student have been notified and will be quarantined.”

“The protocols and procedures related to this scenario can be found on pages 5-7 in our Re-Entry Plan. All parents and staff will be notified that there has been a positive test in their building. However, not everyone in the building will necessarily be impacted. It may be that just a classroom or a portion of a building will close.

“As a reminder, if you or anyone in your family is experiencing symptoms in line with COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider for further guidance. Families are encouraged to self-monitor for symptoms of the coronavirus including fever, dry cough, body aches, and shortness of breath.

“We encourage you to stay updated through reliable sources and take the recommended guidance to reduce you and your family’s risk of exposure and transmission.
