Cross country: Noblesville sweeps Hokum Karem

The Noblesville cross country team hosted its annual Hokum Karem on Saturday at the Chinquapin Ridge course at White River Elementary School.
The Millers swept both the boys and the girls team championships. Noblesville’s boys team won with a score of 20 points, taking seven of the top 10 individual places. Travis Hickner won the 4,000-meter race in 12 minutes, 36 seconds, just edging out teammate Cole Kimmel. Asher Propst finished fourth and Andrew Anderson was sixth. Also placing in the top 10 were Joel Mumaw (seventh), Andrew Knight (ninth) and Luke Shinneman (10th).
In the girls race, the Millers won with 49 points. Summer Rempe led Noblesville by taking fifth, with Nadia Perez finishing in eighth place.
Fishers had a team compete in the boys event. Jacob Dowd led the Tigers by placing 40th.

Sheridan hosted its own Invitational on Saturday.
Westfield had a pair of teams compete, and both the boys and girls squads placed second. The boys were led by a sixth-place finish from Luke Sullivan, while the Shamrocks girls were paced by Hannah Gallagher, who took 10th.
Luke Poprik finished ninth for the Blackhawks in the boys race.
