Three Hamilton County wrestlers qualified for the state meet after their performances at the Indiana High School Girls Wrestling semi-state Friday at Muncie Central.

Hamilton Heights’ Kendall Moe was the champion in the 100-pound division. Moe only needed a little over two minutes to claim the title, winning all three of her matches by fall. In order, she beat Shelbyville’s Jessica Price in the quarterfinals (only needing 41 seconds), Victory College Prep’s Aniah Delgado in the semifinals (40 seconds) and North Central’s Victoria Duenas Zelaya in the championship (52 seconds).

Noblesville’s Kyra Tomlinson won first place at 130 pounds. Tomlinson wrestled four matches, and she got all four victories by fall. Tomlinson’s first win came over Southport’s Oreal Johnson (1 minute, 14 seconds), then she took care of Beech Grove’s Jaydyn Madry in the quarterfinals (1:06).

Tomlinson continued to roll in the semifinals, beating Hagerstown’s Abbie Gilbert in 3:09. In the championship, Tomlinson defeated Ezra Wagner of New Palestine in 2:48.

The top four finishers in each weight class advance to the state meet. Sheridan’s Claudia Headlee earned one of those places at 190 pounds by placing fourth in that class. Headlee punched her ticket by winning a quarterfinal over Pendleton Heights’ Kalli Stock by fall in 2:32. Headlee dropped her semifinals match to Warren Central’s Jazmine Hollins-Rowie by pin (2:00), then fell in the third-place match to Southport’s Mercedes Tellechea in a 45-second pin.

The IHSGW state finals take place next Friday, Jan. 12, at Kokomo’s Memorial Gym.
