Conner Prairie partnership provides free emotional intelligence training

Conner Prairie Living History Museum has partnered with Saxus Leadership Development to offer emotional intelligence training to job seekers in the Indianapolis area. The eight-hour training will give job seekers from Hamilton County WorkOne and Passport to Employment the opportunity to learn soft skills that employers value in today’s workforce.

According to Shawn Neal, founder and trainer with Saxus, the training is being provided at no charge to job seekers.

“Through our partnership with Conner Prairie, we want to give job seekers a leg up in the job search while injecting a group of EQ-skilled workers into the workforce,” Neal said. “People with high emotional intelligence skills are better prepared to manage interpersonal relationships, stress, and their daily happiness.”

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 8:30 a.m. in order to get signed in. Anyone interested in participating must be an active job seeker and enrolled in either WorkOne Hamilton County or through the Passport to Employment program.
