At 2:12 a.m. on Wednesday, Carmel police responded to the 1200 block of Indian Trail Drive in Gramercy Apartments on a report of a disturbance between a male and a female. When officers arrived, they found the male, Scott A. Nocco, 28, Carmel, deceased in front of the apartments. It was determined that Nocco died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
As reported on July 26, Carmel Police Department officers and SWAT team members responded to the same address previously on July 25. In that incident, Nocco was arrested after entering the residence of his ex-girlfriend and beating her in the face with a shotgun. In July, police said a shot was fired by Nocco; however, no one was injured.
As a result of the July incident, Nocco was facing charges of Criminal Confinement, Level 3 Felony; Criminal Recklessness, Level 5 Felony; Domestic Battery, Level 5 Felony; Intimidation, Level 5 Felony; Criminal Mischief, Class A Misdemeanor; and Interference with Reporting of a Crime, Class A Misdemeanor.
