On Wednesday, Westfield Mayor Andy Cook, Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger and Japanese Consulate General Naoki Ito joined leaders of Bastian Solutions and Toyota Advanced Logistics for a grand opening of the company’s new advanced manufacturing facility in Westfield.

“This is a great day for the City of Westfield,” said Cook. “With this facility coming on line, we are telling the world that Westfield is a place that is open for international development. We can supply and house a diverse workforce here and have the land to build a variety of facilities.”

The 90,000 square-foot facility is located along U.S. 31 in Westfield’s NorthPoint Industrial Park. Bastian Solutions, a global systems integrator and consulting firm, provides material handling and robotic automation for large scale product distribution. It is owned by Toyota Advanced Logistics, a subsidiary of Japan-based Toyota Industries Corporation. The Westfield site houses the company’s growing advanced manufacturing operations and features 10,000 square feet of office space. The facility is anticipated to create up to 87 new high-wage jobs by 2020.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of Bastian Solutions’ new facility in Westfield,” said Schellinger. “Bastian Solutions’ commitment to Indiana is yet another example of a global manufacturer choosing our state for growth. The combination of our state’s skilled workforce, central location and business-friendly climate makes Indiana the ideal destination for companies like Bastian Solutions that are creating products to power the world forward.”

“The opening of our Advanced Manufacturing Center is a catalyst for Bastian Solutions’ continued growth and innovation,” said Michael Romano, CEO of Bastian Solutions and president and CEO of Toyota Advanced Logistics. “It is an opportunity that we are honored to share with the Westfield community, and we look forward to creating local jobs and re-enforcing that Westfield and the state of Indiana are ideal locations for investment in advanced manufacturing.”
