Noblesville boys track wins dual meet at Pike

Noblesville’s boys track and field team picked up a dual meet victory in its first outdoor meet of the season, beating Pike 73-50 at the Red Devils’ track.

The Millers began the meet with a win in the 4×800 relay. Jack Strong, Asher Propst, Luke Mumaw, and Bradyn Livingston finished in a time of 8 minutes, 50.37 seconds.

Ben Kern was the runner-up in the 110 hurdles, finishing in 17.00 seconds. In the 100 meters, the Millers swept with Christ Degni taking first place in 11.26 seconds, and Sevin Barringer-Hoonhout (11.53) and Cameron Wilson (11.55) close behind in second and third place, respectively.

Alec Moor won the 1600 run (4:30.93), with Ronnie Neal following in third place (4:34.99). Noblesville then took first in the 4×100 relay; Derrell Coleman, Cameron Wilson, Sidney Weaver Jr., and Degni clocked in with a time of 43.48.

Dario Torres placed first in the 400 dash with a time of 52.30 seconds, with Elliott Soderberg finishing in 3rd place (54.10). Kern then earned a hurdles sweep, taking first place in the 300 hurdles (42.09), with Peyton Cash following in second place in 44.49.

Ronnie Neal was the 800 run winner in 2:05.25, with Mumaw finishing in third place in 2:11.84. Degni added a second win in the 200 dash with a time of 22.95, with Barringer-Hoonhout (23.02) and Wilson (23.43) finishing close behind in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.

Sam Rinker took first place in the 3200 run with a time of 10:14.33, with Grant Cummings finishing in third place in 11:00.31. Noblesville’s “C” team took first place in the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:32.51. Moor, Strong, Propst, and Mumaw ran on the winning team.

Coleman also had a strong showing in the long jump, finishing in second place with a mark of 19 feet, 3.5 inches, while Henry Reno took second place in the high jump with a mark of 5-8.

Noblesville will attempt to divide and conquer on Friday night as they travel to Lawrence North for the Bob Potter Field Events Classic as well as to Franklin Central for the Distance Showcase.
