Four former Hamilton County basketball players face off at IU-Michigan game

Four of Hamilton County’s best basketball players in recent years got together at Indiana University’s Simon-Skojdt Assembly Hall Thursday.

Emily Kiser (Noblesville), Alyssa Crockett (Westfield) and Kate Clarke (Carmel) all saw action for the University of Michigan women’s basketball team as the Wolverines played the Hoosiers, the No. 2-ranked team in the country. Sydney Parrish, the 2020 Indiana Miss Basketball who led the Royals to the 2019 Class 4A state championship, is a part of the IU team, transferring to the Hoosiers this season after playing two years at Oregon.

All four players scored points during the Hoosiers’ 68-52 victory. Parrish scored three points, although she is averaging 12.1 points per game for IU during this season. Parrish also had two rebounds; she averages 5.5 per contest this season.

Kiser, a fifth-year Michigan senior, led the Wolverines with 12 points, and also had four rebounds and three assists. Kiser has become a Michigan mainstay and is a team leader during her career for the Wolverines. This season she averages 15.9 points per game, and is Michigan’s top rebounder, pulling 6.8 per contest. Kiser also has 21 season blocked shots.

Crockett and Clarke are both freshmen beginning their college careers. Clarke hit a 3-pointer for Michigan, while Crockett scored two points during the game. Crockett has played in 24 of the Wolverines’ 26 games, averaging 1.9 points. Clarke has played in 13 games so far, averaging 0.7 points.
