Rob Cutter ‘84 to be inducted into NHS Hall of Fame

The Noblesville High School Athletic Hall of Fame Executive Committee has announced that Rob Cutter, a 1984 NHS graduate, will be inducted into its Class of 2023.

Cutter earned letters in both football and basketball for three years. He was the quarterback for the Millers football team, throwing for 3,413 yards (third on the all-time Noblesville yardage list) and 22 touchdowns. Cutter was twice named as First-Team All-County and All-Conference. During his football career, the Millers had three winning seasons, going 8-2 his senior year (1983).

In basketball, Cutter was a three-year starter and an integral part of Noblesville’s 1983-84 team that was undefeated in the regular season. Cutter played on three sectional championship teams, and was named to the All-County, All-Sectional and All-Regional teams. During his playing career, Noblesville compiled a 53-16 record.

Cutter went on to play football at Butler University, graduating in 1988. He then went on to a very successful football coaching career, where he was an assistant at Lebanon (1988-1990) and Franklin Central (1990-92) before getting promoted to head coach for the Flashes. Cutter was in that position from 1992-95, winning a sectional title in 1993 and compiling a 30-13 record.

In 1995, Cutter enjoyed a long run as the head coach at Hamilton Southeastern, where he supervised the team through the 2006 season. During his run, the Royals finished as state runners-up twice, in Class 4A in 1997, and in Class 5A in 2005. Southeastern won sectional titles in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2005, as well as five conference championships. Cutter was 132-49 as a coach at HSE, and was inducted into the Indiana Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2021.

Cutter will be formally inducted during the Noblesville boys basketball team’s varsity basketball game with on Jan. 7, 2023.
