Noblesville joins Flaherty & Collins to break ground on The Granary

Noblesville city officials and Flaherty & Collins Properties officially broke ground Wednesday, Sept. 2, on The Granary, a $64 million mixed-use development that will transform a historic site along the Pleasant Street corridor and bring new housing, commercial space, public parking, and trail connectivity to downtown Noblesville.

The Noblesville Common Council approved the development agreement in August 2024. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2028.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Deron Kintner, Principal & Special Advisor at Flaherty & Collins Properties, announced that Flaherty & Collins was making a $10,000 donation to the Noblesville Township Trustee’s office to help with flood relief efforts.

Located on approximately three acres on the south end of downtown Noblesville, The Granary will feature a four-story mixed-use building with 223 luxury apartment homes, 5,000 square feet of commercial retail space and approximately 300 structured parking spaces for residents and the public. The southern portion of the development will serve as a trailhead connecting residents and visitors to the Midland Trace and Nickel Plate trails and will include public restrooms and lockers. The location also provides convenient pedestrian and bicycle access to downtown Noblesville and the city’s growing trail network.

“The Granary represents another major investment in the future of downtown Noblesville and an exciting milestone for the Pleasant Street corridor,” Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen said. “As our community continues to grow, we are being intentional about creating new housing options, strengthening connections to our downtown and trail system, and investing in projects that enhance quality of life while respecting the history and character that make Noblesville special.”

The development will bring new life to the former Noblesville Milling Co. granary site, an important piece of the city’s milling history dating back to the early 1900s. That history also inspired the “Millers” name that Noblesville Schools proudly carries today. The Granary’s architecture and design will incorporate elements that complement the surrounding historic area while creating a new gateway into downtown.

The Granary will offer residents a variety of amenities, including a saltwater pool and aqua lounge, co-working areas, a state-of-the-art fitness center, an outdoor kitchen with grilling stations and fire pits, a game room with billiards, a pet spa, bike storage and bike shop, and a club room with a kitchen, bar and group seating.

The Granary is the first significant private development along the new Pleasant Street corridor and builds upon the city’s investment in Reimagine Pleasant Street. The multi-year infrastructure project adds east-west connectivity and accessibility through Noblesville while enhancing mobility, public safety and pedestrian access.

Reimagine Pleasant Street also creates connections among three major trails – Nickel Plate, Midland Trace, and Riverwalk – further linking downtown Noblesville with destinations throughout Hamilton County and beyond.
