Westfield High School Varsity Softball secured a strong 3-0 win over Yorktown on Thursday night at home, highlighted by a dominant combined shutout performance in the circle and a meaningful pregame recognition of city leadership.

Mayor Scott Willis threw out the ceremonial first pitch as the team honored his leadership and recognized the ongoing impact of Westfield’s city government on the community.

On the field, Westfield delivered a complete performance. Pitchers Shea Vohs and Mackenzie Delph combined for a shutout, holding Yorktown scoreless throughout the game. Vohs set the tone early, allowing just two hits over four innings while striking out two. Delph closed the game with three innings of no-hit relief, adding three strikeouts.

Offensively, Westfield was led by Reese Mahannah, Olivia Sampia, and Makayla Watson, who each recorded two hits. Sampia and Sofia Easterhaus each drove in a run to support the Shamrocks’ scoring effort.

Defensively, Westfield played a clean and disciplined game, turning a double play and committing no errors. Mahannah and Easterhaus also added aggression on the basepaths with one stolen base each.

The win reflects a strong, balanced team effort and continued momentum for the Shamrocks this season.
