Howard County Commissioner Jack Dodd endorses Tracey Powell for State Senate

Howard County Commissioner Jack Dodd has endorsed Tipton County Commissioner Tracey Powell for Indiana State Senate District 21 ahead of the May 5 Republican primary.

“As a fellow County Commissioner, I have worked alongside Tracey Powell as a member of the Indiana County Commissioners (ICC) Board of Directors,” Dodd said. “During this time, I have seen Tracey work tirelessly to support local government, work to promote legislation that is good for Indiana, and provide community growth. Tracey is good for the future of Indiana. I support Tracy Powell for Indiana State Senate District 21.”

Dodd is a lifelong Howard County resident, Army veteran, and current President of the Howard County Board of Commissioners. He served in Desert Storm and retired from the United States Army and Army Reserves after serving as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Benning. He was first appointed to the Board of Commissioners in January 2020 and elected to a full term later that year. He serves as Vice President of the Northwest Region for the Indiana County Commissioners Association, where he and Powell have worked alongside one another serving Hoosiers across the state.

For Dodd, the endorsement is a natural extension of a working relationship built serving Hoosiers side by side.

“Jack Dodd is a leader who has served his country and his community in public office,” Powell said. “He knows what it takes to deliver real results, and his support means a great deal to me. I am grateful for his endorsement and energized to keep building the coalition that will take us to victory in May.”

Powell is a Tipton County Commissioner, chiropractor, and small business owner running on a platform of cutting taxes, strengthening schools, supporting healthcare access, and delivering results for the families and businesses of District 21.
