Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has endorsed Chief Deputy John Lowes in his campaign for Hamilton County Sheriff, citing Lowes’ experience, conservative leadership, and commitment to public safety.
Rokita, who has served as Indiana’s Attorney General since 2021, previously represented Indiana in Congress from 2011 to 2019 and served two terms as Indiana Secretary of State from 2002 to 2010. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for constitutional principles, the rule of law, and public safety.
“I’m proud to support John Lowes for Hamilton County Sheriff,” Rokita said. “John is a proven conservative who understands that protecting our communities starts with upholding the Constitution, enforcing the rule of law, and standing firmly for public safety. With nearly three decades of law enforcement experience and years of executive leadership, he has the knowledge, integrity, and toughness required to lead. As Chief Deputy, John Lowes has already played a key role in keeping Hamilton County one of the safest places to live in Indiana, and I am confident he is the qualified and experienced leader we need as our next Sheriff.”
Lowes, a career law enforcement officer with more than 28 years of experience, currently serves as Chief Deputy of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, where he oversees daily operations and supports deputies across the county.
“I am honored to have the support of Attorney General Todd Rokita, a proven conservative leader who has spent his career fighting to protect Hoosier values,” Lowes said. “I’m grateful for his endorsement and remain committed to keeping Hamilton County safe, supporting our law enforcement officers, and upholding the values that make our community strong.”
Lowes will appear on the Hamilton County Republican primary ballot in the Republican Primary on May 5.
