An Indianapolis man has been arrested in connection to the homicide of an international poker player in Westfield.

Brown
Westfield Police arrested Ronald Dewayne Brown, Jr. for an initial charge of murder. Brown was booked in the Hamilton County Jail on Friday without bond.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Josh Kocher told News 8 police arrested Brown in relation to the death of 47-year-old James “Matt” Lushin. Formal charges are pending.
Lushin, a real estate investor and accomplished poker player, was found dead on March 12 at his Westfield home. Police have previously said the death was believed to be isolated, but have not released details on the investigation.
“We understand the public wants answers, and we assure you additional information will be provided when appropriate,” Westfield Police Department said in a statement Friday evening.
Lushin graduated from Kokomo High School and traveled the world competing in poker tournaments, according to his obituary. He was laid to rest in a Mass of Christian Burial in Kokomo on March 20.
“Matt served many callings during his life, but none was more important than the parenting and raising of his son Leighton,” his obituary reads. “The testament to a good man is the character of the children he raises. Matt exceeded in fatherhood.”
