The Goddard School of Noblesville helps families affected by flood

When the flooding happened here in Hamilton County, our hearts went out to the families who were affected. As a school that serves families in this community every day, we knew we couldn’t just watch from the sidelines. We wanted to do something.

We started collecting donations in an effort to help in whatever way we could. Our staff and families came together to gather items for those who needed them, and we were incredibly proud of how quickly everyone was willing to step up.

But honestly, this meant so much more to us than simply donating supplies.

We truly believe that being a preschool means being part of the community that surrounds you. Our school isn’t just a building where children spend their day. It is a place where families become part of our school family, where teachers build meaningful relationships with children, and where we have the opportunity to teach children what it means to care for other people.

We want our children to grow up knowing that their community matters. We want them to see the adults around them helping, giving, and showing up when someone needs them. Sometimes those lessons don’t come from a classroom activity or a book. Sometimes they come from watching your teacher, your parents, or your friends come together to help a neighbor. That’s the kind of school we want to be.

We want to be a cornerstone of the community, not just a place where families drop their children off in the morning. We want our families to know that we care about their children, but that we also care about them. We care about what happens in Noblesville. We care about our neighbors. When our community needs us, we want to show up.

The support of our families and faculty helped to make this donation possible. Their willingness to give, even when they weren’t personally affected by the flooding, is something we hope our children will carry with them as they grow. One of the things we love most about early childhood education is that we aren’t just helping children learn their letters, numbers, or how to navigate their first friendships. We’re helping shape the people they are becoming.

Kindness, curiosity, empathy, generosity, and a sense of belonging are just as important as anything else they will learn. We are proud of our school, our staff, and our community. It is our mission and vision that each child we support develops a passion for making a positive impact on the world. So, while this donation may seem like a small thing, to us it represents exactly who we want to be as a school.
