The charm of Zionsville isn’t accidental. It’s built, brick by brick, by the people behind its small businesses and the experiences they create. Now, Main Street Zionsville (MSZ) is putting those stories front and center with the launch of its new Charming on Purpose initiative.

Charming on Purpose is set to shine a spotlight on the unique character, businesses, and experiences that define MSZ. The initiative aims to capture the heart of the district by telling authentic stories, highlighting local entrepreneurs, and inviting visitors to experience the charm that makes Main Street a beloved destination.

Building on its first year as an officially designated Indiana Main Street community, the organization is entering a new phase focused on long-term growth, economic vitality, and preserving the village’s historic character.

“Every brick and every business owner has a story,” said Erica Carpenter, MSZ president and owner of Fivethirty Home. “Zionsville’s charm is an intentional choice made every day by the small business owners who invest their passion and their livelihood into this community. Charming on Purpose brings those stories to life.”

The initiative highlights Zionsville’s iconic Main Street and the more than 175 local businesses within the MSZ district. Through storytelling, events, and strategic promotion, the campaign aims to strengthen connections between visitors, residents, and the people behind the storefronts.

MSZ received grant funding from Discover Boone County to support marketing, storytelling, and visitor engagement efforts tied to the campaign. This investment complements ongoing public and private improvements to buildings, infrastructure, and the overall Main Street experience.

“Our business owners are a large part of what makes the Main Street Zionsville experience so special,” said Jason Plunkett, Zionsville Town Council president. “They choose Zionsville not just as a place to operate, but as a place to build something meaningful. That level of care shines through every day and during special events.”

To celebrate the launch, MSZ will host a series of events throughout the coming months, inviting the public to experience the Charming on Purpose spirit firsthand. Event details and additional stories will be shared at MainStreetZionsville.org and on Facebook and Instagram @MainStreetZionsville.
