A number of Duke Energy lineworkers who can often be found working in central Indiana are headed to the International Lineman’s Rodeo in less than two weeks.

Tyler Adrian, Collin Boschert, Calvin Fettig, Marc Mitchell, Julian (“Chase”) Nickell, Matt Wallpe, and Jason Washburn – who all work out of Duke’s Operations Centers in Hamilton County – will participate in the International Lineman’s Rodeo & Expo that kicks off Oct. 18 in Bonner Springs, Kan. This annual event draws top lineworkers from around the world to compete in job-related events designed to simulate traditional lineworker tasks and challenges. Competitors are judged on speed, agility, technique and safety procedures.

The more than 70 Duke Energy lineworkers who will compete in this year’s International Lineman’s Rodeo earned their spots by competing in regional Duke Energy rodeo events. Competitors represent the Carolinas, Florida, and the Midwest (which includes Indiana) and will participate in apprentice, journeyman and senior team divisions.
