Blackhawks have no problem handling Cowan

The Sheridan boys basketball team cruised through its season opener Tuesday at Larry Hobbs Hall, taking care of Cowan 89-47.

The Blackhawks led Cowan 25-15 after the first quarter. Trey Page threw in two 3-pointers for six points, with Damon Winston and Devon Hamilton also both scoring six. It was Caleb Wright’s turn in the second quarter, as he poured in eight points, including two 3s. Winston added another seven, all part of a 30-point period that gave Sheridan a 55-31 lead at halftime.

Winston scored in all four quarters, putting in 11 points in the second half to finish with a game-high 24. Five Blackhawks reached double figures: Trey Page scored 17, Hamilton had 13, Calen Wright scored 11 and Carson Wright added 10.

Sheridan plays on the road Saturday traveling to Southmont.
