213,000 people share some fun

Last weekend, in the long tradition of newspapers in Hamilton County, The Reporter had a little fun with our readers on April Fool’s Day.

In our daily edition and on Facebook, Fred Swift, true to his name, was the first one to strike your funny bone with his story about a new Indian casino coming to Hamilton County near Strawtown. Several readers noted that he had them going until his last paragraph, when he finally revealed the joke.

Well done, Mr. Swift!

Then, just before lunch on April 1, our social media team released a breaking news video report about county roundabouts. We poked a little fun at Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville and Westfield leaders in that one.

But the big story here, dear readers, is you. Your sharing, liking and commenting on these stories on social media and our website allowed The Reporter to reach 213,543 people last week. It was wonderful to see so many were willing to help us have a little good-natured fun with residents and community leaders.

Laughter is healing, Hamilton County, so thank you for sharing one with us!

Now, if you haven’t read Fred Swift’s story, seen the breaking news video, or caught up with Paul Poteet’s forecast for the week, find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/hamiltoncountyreporter, visit our website at www.ReadTheReporter.com (and sign up for a free subscription while you are there) and keep reading The Reporter.

And if you have an extra two seconds, give us a like or a share.

We certainly like all of you and we will keep sharing all the real news Hamilton County has to offer!
