2 in critical condition after 3-car crash in Noblesville

At approximately 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police & Fire Departments responded to the intersection of SR 32 and Oakmont Drive (Noblesville) in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, it appears that a 2006 Ford Focus was traveling eastbound on SR 32 and was stopped in the roadway preparing to turn northbound onto Oakmont Drive. For unknown reason(s), a 2006 Toyota Camry that was also traveling eastbound on SR 32 attempted to pass the Ford on the left side. As a result, the Toyota Camry collided head on with a 2015 Toyota Corolla that was traveling westbound on SR 32.

The identity of the driver of the Toyota Camry will be not released until family notifications have been made. The driver was transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent (Indianapolis) in critical condition. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was identified as Wendy Brewer, 43, of Noblesville. She was transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent (Indianapolis) in critical condition. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the Ford was identified as Justin Laswell, 33, of Indianapolis. He was uninjured and released at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Investigators from the NPD Accident Reconstruction Unit were summons to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. As a result of the investigation, SR 32 was closed between Hague Road and Hazel Dell Road/Little Chicago Road until approximately 11:48 a.m.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
