Local Westfield Scout Troops 107 and 1070 will be coming to Westfield neighborhoods on Saturday, Nov. 4 to gather non-perishable food items to stock the critically low shelves of Open Doors, a Westfield food pantry.

You can help by having food items bagged, ready for pickup by the front door, and labeled “SCOUTS” or “OPEN DOORS.” Donations will also be accepted in the parking lot west of Open Doors at 19360 Tomlinson Road until approximately 3 p.m. Look for signs at the entrance to your neighborhood to know if volunteers will be there or look for announcements on social media channels.

The Scouts will begin pickups around 9:30 a.m. and will end around 3 p.m. Note that if Scouts happen to miss your donation, please consider dropping it at Open Doors directly at your convenience.

Please visit OpenDoorsWestfield.org to get more information about what items are in critical need this holiday season.

Troop 107/1070 have been Scouting for Food in Westfield in support of Westfield Food Pantries for over 15 years. Donations collected in 2022 were estimated at over 3,000 pounds and ranked among the largest single-day food drives that support Open Doors.

The Troops are celebrating their 75th year of providing character development, community service, leadership training and outdoor adventure to youth in the Westfield community. The Troops 107 (Boys) and 1070 (Girls) meet at 7 p.m. on Mondays at Christ United Methodist Church in Westfield. They also camp monthly and are regularly engaged in service projects throughout the community. To find out more, visit troopwebhost.org/Troop107Westfield.
