U.S. Senators Mike Braun and Todd Young have announced their endorsement of the Brake, Brown, and Sharp campaign for Carmel Clay School Board.
The Senators have made their position clear that local elections are extremely important from top to bottom and the local school board race is one of the most essential this year. Schools are responsible for building the next generation of leaders and therefore every community member is a stakeholder in education.
“I’m proud to endorse the slate of Brake, Brown, and Sharp for Carmel Clay School Board,” Sen. Braun said. “I know this team will fight for parents’ rights, accountability, and transparency at all levels.”
Senator Braun, from Jasper, previously served on his local school board. As stated on his website, Braun is a “conservative who is proud to work toward creating great American jobs.” He built a successful auto parts distribution company and has degrees from Wabash College in economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Senator Todd Young, a Carmel High School graduate, bravely served his country as a rifle platoon commander and intelligence officer in the United States Marine Corps. He holds an MBA from University of Chicago and a JD from Indiana University. Senator Young is a member of the Senate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Caucus aimed at “modernizing our current education system to cater to all Hoosier students and career paths,” according to his website.
“I grew up in Carmel and the schools have been an asset to the community for years,” Sen. Young said. “We must elect common-sense conservative leaders like the Brake, Brown, and Sharp ticket to the Carmel Clay School Board to ensure the schools remain focused on academics and educating our future generations.”
The Brake, Brown, and Sharp campaign (BBS) came together around a common vision of “academics first” and “parents’ rights in education.” The campaign is focused on education and workforce development as being a critical piece to the success of our students and community.

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8 with early voting occurring now. Voters will have the option to select one candidate in all three districts, for a total of three seats on the ballot.
