The University baseball team opened its season Thursday at the 2024 Super Prep at Louisville Ballard High School.
The Trailblazers fell to Silver Creek (another Indiana team) by the score of 4-1. The Dragons scored one run in the second and third innings, then two more in the fifth.
University’s lone run came in the sixth inning, when Ryan Castetter hit a lead off home run into center field. Castetter was one of seven different Trailblazers to have a hit during the game. Beckett Suh threw six strikeouts in four innings.
The ‘Blazers continue play at the Super Prep today, taking on Ballard at 12:30 p.m. and Greenon (Ky.) at 5:30 p.m.
