The Westfield girls tennis team won its Hoosier Crossroads Conference opener on Friday, beating Avon 5-0 in a dual meet that included 35 mph winds.
The Shamrocks breezed through all five matches in straight sets. No. 1 singles Isabella Norris and No. 3 singles Addi Kooi both shut out their opponents 6-0, 6-0. No. 2 singles Juliette Grilliot won 6-3, 6-1. In doubles, No. 1 Carlie Lukowiak and Jenna Berry were victorious 7-6 (5) 6-3 and No. 2 Bri Saylor and Bella Rivera were 6-2, 6-3 winners.
Westfield is 2-0 on the season and plays today at the Delta Invitational.
