Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank
Saturday, May 19 was a perfect day for the 34th year of Stamp Out Hunger!
Volunteers across the county gathered at post offices and collected food picked up by the postal carriers which was left by mailboxes.
During this annual food drive, Hamilton County residents from Noblesville, Fishers, Westfield, and Carmel donated more 57,000 pounds of food. This equates to 47,500 meals!
All food donated has been sorted and distributed to food pantries here in Hamilton County. All of this generosity comes at a time of year where the need increases with summer approaching.
Thank you to all the volunteers who folded bags, stapled postcards, and helped collect the donated food. Thank you to the postal workers who loaded their postal trucks with bags filled with donated food.
We also want to thank Keller Williams Indy Metro North who supported Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank on their worldwide day of giving back. Their team sorted approximately 14,000 pounds of food that helped us distribute immediately to the food pantries.
