Noblesville Police Department accepting pre-applications

The Noblesville Police Department (NPD) is accepting pre-applications for the Spring 2023 Applicant Screening Process.

Citizens may apply for the selection process at cityofnoblesville.org/employment. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1. The process is scheduled to take approximately three to five months to complete and will include the following components:

  1. Pre-Application Screening
  2. Physical Fitness Assessment
  3. Written Examination
  4. Oral Interview and Writing Exercise
  5. Complete Personal History Statement
  6. Polygraph Examination
  1. Background Investigation
  2. Psychological Examination
  3. Complete Physical Examination/Drug Test
  4. Approval of Police Merit Commission

Basic minimum requirements include:

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen
  2. Must have a successfully received a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age and have not reached 40 years of age by date of hire
  4. Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle
  5. No felony of domestic violence convictions
  6. No Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) convictions
  7. No dishonorable discharge from the military service

Noblesville is the county seat of Hamilton County and the 10th largest city in Indiana with a population of more than 69,600 residents, covering approximately 32 square miles. The Noblesville Police Department has 96 sworn officers and has many specialized units to include drone pilots, SWAT, motorcycle, FTO, crisis negotiations, K-9, mentoring, boat patrol, honor guard, dive, crime scene technicians, bicycle patrol, motor vehicle crash reconstructionist, school resource officer, mental health specialist, wellness specialist, and many more.

The Noblesville Police Department offers an excellent benefit package with includes the following:

  1. Competitive salary starting at $63,128 after a one-year probationary period and a salary of $73,715.20 after completion of the fourth year
  2. 15 vacation days after the first year
