Trick or treat? State Rep. Victoria Garcia Wilburn (D-Fishers) is working to make government feel more like a treat. Garcia Wilburn wants to remind House District 32 residents that navigating state government shouldn’t feel like a corn maze.
On Halloween from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Garcia Wilburn and her state government office will offer listening hours and state resources at various public locations in District 32’s three cities of Carmel, Fishers, and Indianapolis.
The hours and locations for Garcia Wilburn’s district tour on Tuesday, Oct. 31 include:
- Fishers: 9 to 11 a.m. at Kroger, 9799 E. 116th (bring the whole family!)
- Fishers: 11:15 to 12:15 p.m. at Four Day Ray Brewing, 11671 Lantern Road (adults only)
- Carmel: 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Kroger, 1217 S. Range Line Road (bring the whole family!)
- Indianapolis/Nora: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Kroger, 1365 E. 86th (bring the whole family!)
“I am excited to invite all District 32 residents to drop by one of my listening hour locations, share your concerns with me, pick up some informational resources and grab some Halloween candy,” Garcia Wilburn said. “One of my roles as your state representative is to make government more accessible and transparent. The more you learn about things like property taxes or how tax funds are distributed, the more you’ll be empowered to advocate for yourself and our community. The 2024 legislative session is fast approaching, and I want your thoughts on what the state legislature should prioritize next year. Costumes are encouraged – I know I’ll be wearing one!”
Resources available at each listening hour location will include property tax information, senior citizen resources, a consumer protection guide, veterans benefits information, local tourism guides, and mental health resources.
