The Carmel Utilities Wastewater Treatment Plant received the following four awards at the 2023 Indiana Water Environment Association annual conference: Indiana Water Environment Association Outstanding Laboratory Award (2001 through 2023); Indiana Water Environment Association Biosolids Award (2016 & 2023); Indiana Water Environment Association Excellence in Safety Award (2022 & 2023); and Indiana Water Environment Association Tumble Bug Award – Individual Award to Rachel Calhoun (2023).
