Kati Weir has been named as the new Carmel girls volleyball head coach.
Carmel Athletics announced the hiring in an article on its athletic website Thursday morning. Weir played for Yorktown High School, leading the Tigers to an IHSAA state championship, then continued her playing career at Ball State University, where she was a two-time All-MAC Academic and Distinguished Student-Athlete.
Weir spent four years as the head coach of Wapahani High School, leading the Raiders to three consecutive state championship matches and winning the 2022 Class 2A title. Her peers in the state coaches association selected her as the 2022 Class 2A State Coach of the Year. She has also served as an assistant coach at Yorktown.
“Coach Weir will begin her coaching duties immediately at CHS,” the article said.
