Karen Sue McDole

February 28, 1943 – October 19, 2023

Karen Sue McDole, 80, Noblesville, passed away on October 19, 2023, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, with her family at her side.

She was born on February 28, 1943, in Noblesville to Waymon and Ina (Kellam) Gellinger. She attended Jackson Township Schools and graduated from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1961.

She married her high school sweetheart, William Neal McDole and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. They were blessed with three children, Gregory Neil McDole, Tracie (Robert) Smoot, and David (Rebecca) McDole. And additional blessings were added to their lives when their grandchildren arrived, Kennedy (Jesse) Juelicher, Jarrett Smoot, Keighan Mcdole, Ayden McDole, and Haleigh McDole. Also surviving her is a brother, Don (Georgeanna) Gellinger.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are two brothers, Jimmy Gellinger and Max Gellinger; and a sister-in-law, Marcia McDole (Don) Gellinger.

Karen was an active member for many years at Cicero Christian Church where she also participated in Bible Study groups and other Church activities.

She supported Mephibosheth Ministries and Hamilton County Special Olympics. Karen had also worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for several years.

Her friends and community knew Karen as a friendly, soft spoken, kind lady, and she had a passion for helping others. During leisure time she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and reading. Her family attested that she was a good cook and made great pies.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Cicero Christian Church, 1715 Stringtown Pike, Cicero, with Pastor Adam Colter officiating. A time of visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mephibosheth Ministries or Hamilton County Special Olympics. Donation envelopes will be available at the Church.
