Indy Arts Council names nine new board members to help guide strategic vision

The Indy Arts Council has appointed nine new members to its board of directors, strengthening its leadership during a key period of the organization’s strategic plan implementation. These individuals bring diverse expertise that will support the advancement of its mission to champion arts and culture.

“We are building something intentional,” said Judith B. Thomas, President & CEO of Indy Arts Council. “And it takes leaders like these to help carry it forward. The arts are essential to how a city understands itself, and together, we will ensure Indianapolis’s story includes all of us.”

The new board members (listed below) bring deep expertise across healthcare, law, finance, higher education, sports, arts, and entertainment, philanthropy, and community development, strengthening the Arts Council’s ability to build a thriving and inclusive creative ecosystem in central Indiana.

Amandula Anderson
First Vice President and Manager of Nonprofit Services, National Bank of Indianapolis

Amandula Anderson is First Vice President and Manager of Nonprofit Services at The National Bank of Indianapolis, with over 20 years of nonprofit experience. She has led community organizations, advanced housing initiatives, and holds degrees in public affairs and real estate development.

Kimberly DalSanto
Partner, Taft Law

DalSanto is an accomplished litigator with expertise in environmental and commercial law. A longtime supporter of arts initiatives in Central Indiana, she brings valuable experience in governance, compliance, and community-based cultural development.

Andrea Fonseca
Vice President, Banker, J.P. Morgan Private Bank

Fonseca brings nearly two decades of experience in wealth management and community leadership. Known for her commitment to empowering individuals and families, she also serves on multiple nonprofit boards and champions initiatives that expand access and opportunity.

Heather Harris
Partner, Barnes & Thornburg LLP

Harris is a leader in education policy and law, with deep experience in government affairs, healthcare, and charter school innovation. Her work advancing educational access and policy reform aligns with the Arts Council’s commitment to a creative life for all.

Aaron Hurt
Vice President for Arts, Events & Enterprise Management, Butler University

Hurt oversees one of the region’s most active performing arts ecosystems, managing more than 1,400 events annually. A Butler alum and nationally recognized arts administrator, he brings extensive experience in venue management, audience engagement, and large-scale event production.

Joe Jarzen
Client Liaison and Associate, Schmidt Associates

A leader in historic preservation and placemaking, Jarzen has spent more than 20 years advancing community-centered design and sustainability. His work in public art, green space advocacy, and cultural preservation adds a critical perspective on how the built environment shapes creative life.

Crystal Miller
President, IU Health Foundation

A nationally respected leader in healthcare philanthropy, Miller has led transformational growth at IU Health Foundation, increasing fundraising by 800 percent since 2017. Her expertise in strategic development, sustainability, and community impact will help guide the Arts Council’s long-term vision.

Max Siegel
CEO, USA Track & Field

A nationally renowned executive in sports and entertainment, Siegel has driven unprecedented growth and innovation at USATF. His leadership experience in global partnerships, revenue generation, and equity initiatives brings a powerful perspective on the intersection of culture, sports, and community.

Michele Szilagyi
Assistant General Counsel, Neuroscience, Diagnostics, Cell & Gene Therapy, Eli Lilly and Company

A seasoned legal leader with experience spanning global healthcare and life sciences, Szilagyi brings a strong background in innovation, research, and corporate strategy. Her early career in Alzheimer’s research and lifelong connection to Indiana’s arts and culture community inform her commitment to strengthening local cultural institutions.
