The Hamilton Heights High School Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Erin Trimpe as the new varsity girls basketball head coach. Erin replaces Keegan Cherry who had been the head coach since the 2016-17 season.
Trimpe comes to Hamilton Heights with past head coaching experience at Carmel High School where she coached for four years (2019-2023). Her teams won a total of 49 games and lost 42 while competing against the No. 1 Sagarin-rated schedule in the state. This past year, Trimpe assisted Head Coach Donna Buckley at Noblesville High School where she gained more valuable experience being a part of another successful girls’ basketball program.
After graduating from Park Tudor High School in 2007, Trimpe attended Indiana University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education in 2012.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Hamilton Heights community and look forward to growing the Girls’ Basketball program at all grade levels.” said Trimpe. “I am excited for the opportunity to positively impact the student-athletes and use basketball as an avenue to help them grow as young women, students and members of their community. As a program, we look forward to building on the rich tradition and foundation established by teams before us while striving to continue the Husky legacy. Thank you to Mr. Mason and Mr. Ogden as well as Dr. Arrowood for this opportunity.”
“Coach Trimpe is an outstanding coach and tremendous role model,” said Buckley. “She is going to bring energy and excitement every day. She will work hard to continue to build on the incredible tradition that is Hamilton Heights Basketball.”
“Erin comes to us with valuable experience leading a very successful program at Carmel High School. She has a wealth of experience facilitating the development of the feeder programs at both Carmel and Noblesville. She has faced the top 4A opponents in the state and has been successful. And she knows and understands how to positively impact student/athletes making them better people. She checks every box and we are excited to have her leading our girls’ basketball program”, said Hamilton Heights Athletic Director Kurt Ogden.
