Westfield varsity baseball players instill love of the game for countless kids at Opening Day event

The Miracle League of Westfield had its Opening Day this past Sunday, April 21. The league doubled in size since its inaugural season last fall, which meant they needed double the volunteers.

Westfield High School varsity baseball player Preston Tamm rounded up the team to help be Angels in the Outfield for several of the Miracle League players, helping to ensure their same love for the game is instilled in player while also ensuring their safety and teaching them the game.

The Miracle League of Westfield is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, successful, and enjoyable baseball experience for ages 0 to 99 with disabilities or special health care needs. The Miracle League will offer adaptive baseball, within an accessible stadium at RoundTripper Academy, removing the barriers that would normally keep individuals off the baseball field.

Plans to build an official fully accessible Miracle League field are underway to retrofit an existing field at RoundTripper outdoors.
